Valeria Matzner

Voice

In the veins of this versatile singer/songwriter flow the rhythms and melodies of her native South America; the excitement of samba, the passion of tango, the soulful rhythms of candombe, and her love for the exploration of many other musical styles insinuate their way into her music.

Since arriving in Canada, Matzner has performed alongside accredited artists such as Hilario Duran, Darren Sigesmund, Aleksandar Gajic, Darryl Jahnke, Celso Machado, Salvador Ferreras, Lache Cercel, among others. Matzner has been featured at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival, the Vancouver Folk Music Festival, the Toronto Jazz Festival, the Sacred Music Festival, the Victoria Jazz Festival, Beaches Jazz Festival, among others, and at music venues in Tokyo, Manila, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Montreal, Vancouver, Toronto, and New York.

Anima, Matzner’s award-winning solo album (Triplet Records, 2018) has gathered glowing national and international reviews.
