
Esme Allen-Creighton

Violist Esme Allen-Creighton currently teaches and performs throughout the GTHA. Previously based in Philadelphia, she appeared frequently with Grammy-nominated Inscape Chamber Orchestra, toured Europe as principal of the Arcos Orchestra, debuted works at Carnegie Hall as violist of the Serafin Quartet, and held faculty positions as Assistant Professor at the University of Delaware, and as a Philadelphia Orchestra Teaching Artist. Esme began her studies through the Suzuki method, which she now teaches as a certified violin pedagogue. She continued at the Royal Conservatory of Music, earning a special award for the top-marked string player in Canada upon receipt of her ARCT. She completed bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the Juilliard School, before completing a doctorate at the Université de Montréal. Esme is also a dedicated poet whose work has appeared in ‘The Write Launch’ And ‘Schmopera’. Until the world shut down, she performed regularly at Shab E Sh’er poetry series, and in productions like ‘Forest Bathing’ featured in Whole Note Magazine, which combined her poetry and viola performance. She is currently creating a music/poetry podcast ‘Lines to lines’ thanks to an Ontario Arts Council Grant.
